History

Rookbeare is sheltered by a rookery from the north and west winds
- hence the name.

Right in the centre of Devon it has been a farm since
before the Norman conquest when it was part of the lands given to Gilbert the Englishman in return for his changing sides and
joining the French.

The Marsh family arrived more recently, in 1983.
We started making ice cream in 1988, selling at summer festivals
throughout the 90's. We now make the flavour range developed at
festivals to sell in retail size tubs.

Rook

Rook - Corvus Frugilegus - sociable member of the crow family
with slender bill and pale face, can live to 20 years old.
